"Everyone is an artist, and everything is art"

Our
Purpose

A Quiet Difference

Some artists do not create to change the world. They create to show that when you stay true to who you are, you become part of the flow.

RK Gupta is one of them. He moves with his craft like water, never letting it rest on the shore. His art creates quiet waves that make people pause and reflect.

His daughter, Aashita, has watched him work with quiet dedication. She has seen him shape the most stubborn materials into something soft and full of meaning. For her, his work has always felt like poetry made by hand.

She founded the RK Gupta Foundation to carry that spirit forward, a space for emerging artists, especially those from tribal communities, to learn, explore, and discover their own rhythm, just as he once did.

RK Gupta himself will guide this journey, offering his time, wisdom, and presence to those who come with open hands and open hearts.

The mission of the foundation is simple: to help artists create work that is honest, lasting, and deeply their own.

Echoes

Meaning lives beyond words, in patterns that hum memory, speak feeling, and need no explanation to understand.

Kirsaan

The field is alive with movement and purpose. Ploughs have carved the earth, harvesters gathered with dust on their shoulders and determination in their eyes. Bulls stand firm, their horns pointed, steady and alert, ready for what lies ahead. The sun watches from above, casting long shadows and a golden heat across the land. No one here is done until the sky turns orange and the last task is complete. It is a day built on grit, rhythm, and continuous effort.

Bagh-e-Mahtab

A beginning that feels alive, like a burst of spring from somewhere sacred, where the divine lingers and life unfolds with grace. Branches stretch like arms mid-motion, carrying songs of birds that have stories to tell. There’s music in the leaves, in the way they move, in how they hold the weight of the skies. Everything here feels touched by light, by rhythm, by something ancient and beautiful that wants only to grow and be heard.

Himachal

The pull of the mountains is never loud. It arrives like breath on cold glass. This piece echoes that silent call, like snow melting under first light, or the wind sliding through pine leaves. Woven through it are Himachali patterns, each shape carrying the weight of old songs, long journeys, and the warmth of wool by the fire. A calling back to altitudes where stories sleep under stones, and your name floats between peaks like a thread in the sky.

The Summer Internship is designed for emerging artists who want to immerse themselves in the philosophy and work of the RK Gupta Foundation. Interns will take part in hands-on projects, support ongoing workshops, and learn what it means to stand behind a community of artists. It’s an experience that allows you to contribute meaningfully while discovering your own creative path. If you’re someone who believes in the power of art to make a difference and wants to grow through real-world learning, we invite you to be part of it.

The Program brings together tribal and folk artists who carry a deep love for their art but may not have a platform to showcase their work, learn new techniques, or grow in their journey.

The program is committed to nurturing these artists, preserving their work and identity, and helping them find their place in the larger art world. The RK Gupta Foundation deeply understands that tribal art is slowly losing its essence, and there is an urgent need to reorganise and revive this space with care and intention. This residency is about reigniting the love for tribal art in ways that are respectful, thoughtful, and long overdue.
